This Is My Home (Too): An Art Benefit for Families for Freedom
WHERE IS HOME? AND WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR, IMMIGRANTS, AND INDIGENOUS GROUPS? NOW, MORE THAN EVER, IT'S IMPORTANT TO HAVE THIS CONVERSATION.
BRN GRL SPK presents THIS IS MY HOME (TOO), an exhibit by artists of color examining our country's complicated history with colonialism, slavery, and immigration - and asking questions about what and where home is, who has historically had access to one, and how it shapes one's identity.
The collection will be displayed at Casa Mezcal in Lower Manhattan from Oct 9th - 25th, 2017.
How You Can Help
On opening night on October 9th, we raised nearly $1500 for Families for Freedom, an NYC organization by and for families facing and fighting deportation - both locally and nationally.
But we're not done yet! You can still show your support by donating to the cause. We'll be taking donations until October 28th.
